My name is Tamkanat, I meet Ms. Susy in my junior year of high school. She helped me navigate the college applications and FAFSA. Ms. Susy kept in touch with me throughout my college years and still is always willing to help me with my grad schools applications. My words cannot describe the appreciation and love I have for Ms. Susy.
Ms. Susy, You have been one of my biggest role models growing up. In high school, you gave me the best advice possible to pursue higher education. What I thought would be impossible as a first generation, DACA student turned into me pursuing a masters degree! Now, as an adult, I know I can reach out to you with trust about advice on new academic endeavors. Thank you for all you have done and will continue to do!
People seek counsel for guidance. The counselors job is to delivery the most optimal source of direction for success. Susy has done just that for me, she has provided me the most necessary tools for success in my pursuit in a post-secondary education.
Ms.Susy Ruiz was a gift. I did not want to spend my last couple years with Sam reminding her to submit essays and to be aware of deadlines. My daughter had a vision for herself and her future that I had no experience in ( I am a CPA and she is an artist). I needed a third party she would listen to, someone who could relate to her and we found this with Susy. Sam stayed on track, she had a plan, and she felt empowered. We would not have experienced this without the help of this incredibly talented counselor. On top of all the support, she gave Sam a great awareness of her options. On a scale of 1 to 10, Susy is a 10++
I have known and worked with Ms.Susy academically and later on professionally. In high school, she has helped me navigate with college searching, college applications, scholarship opportunities, and even encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and apply to my dream school that I got accepted into! Her skills and knowledge of college life and professional advice have given me so many opportunities that I may not have achieved if it wasn’t for her and her resources. Thank you,Susy!
I wanted to share my experience with my college counselor Ms. Susy and how she helped me push through the struggles of college applications. Although it can be overwhelming and stressful, having a counselor by your side can make all the difference. Ms. Susy was incredibly supportive, helping me identify my strengths and weaknesses and guiding me through the process of choosing the right schools to apply to. Even when I faced rejection from some schools, she was there to offer encouragement and help me stay focused on my goals. Thanks to her guidance, I was able to gain acceptance into many different colleges. Even now, as I navigate my college experiences, she has supported me through it all. I will forever be grateful for her guidance and for giving me her expertise on all the questions I asked.
As a first-generation student, I want to express my profound gratitude for Ms. Susy's invaluable resources and unwavering support throughout my college admissions journey and scholarship quest. Her selfless dedication to aiding first-generation and underserved students like me is both inspiring and empowering in the realm of higher education, especially as a trailblazing figure as a Latino in higher education. Now that I have the privilege of attending Stanford University, the significance of Ms. Susy's influence is unmistakably clear, underscoring just how essential and beneficial her contributions are for students on a similar path.
